Parks, Friends, and the Sound

It has been beautiful outside this week so we for sure had to take advantage of it.  We have spent time at the park swinging on Ad's favorite swing. 

Ad has also spent lots of time out in our back yard playing with the dogs.  On this particular day Lily was her new best friend as she played outside with her and then shared a snack. 

Friday after work I picked Ad up from the daycare and asked where she wanted to go for a run.  She was determined that we should go running at the beach - ever since our last trip to the beach she has been begging to go back.  Since we had no plans to go to the beach any time soon we instead went and ran along the water front.  She loved throwing rocks into the Sound when we were done. 

 She even found a crab and wanted to bring him home to dad. 

Oley and I wanted to ensure that we were going to be able to endure the bike ride next weekend so we went and rode a different trail this weekend.  Ad is such a trooper on these long bike rides. 

My Girl

It's amazing how quickly time flies and this little nugget grows! Sunday she wanted me to take her pictures after church and so we grabbed a cushion and went out to the porch.  She is getting so much sass to her. 

But the best part of her growing up is the great little shopping buddy that she is becoming.  As we were shopping the other night I left her and Oley for a few minutes and when I returned she had filled her basket and was bound to fit more in it.  I just love having a little girl!

Bike Rides

Oley and I have been training for the Old Faithful Bike Ride.  Since we really only have the weekends to go for bike rides Ad has gotten good about going with us.  This week we road the trail that has a big park in the middle of the ride, which is always a good thing.  She is always excited to go but about half way through she will either be asleep or ready to be done.  Love this kid!

Love how healthy of a little eater she is.  She always chooses an apple or banana over any other snack.  Wish I could be that good!

Bubbles

Now that Ad gets to commute with me we have been trying out new things after work.  This week we met up with Tina and went for a walk.  Ad loves Tina because she is just like another grandma for Ad.  When we got to the park Tina had bubbles for little Ad.  She was ecstatic!

She is the best running buddy.  Since we have moved away from having a decent park in our neighborhood, I always ensure that she gets to play at a park after a good long run. 

Let it Go

Ad loves Elsa and so whenever she gets to choose the dress she wears to church she always has to have the one that looks the closest to Elsa's.  This morning she went as far as needing to help put makeup on.

First Day of School and Soccer

Ad had her first day of  school today, that's what the daycare calls it, and she absolutely loved it!  I was expecting some sort of break down when dropping her off.  She walked right into her classroom turned around and said, Okay bye Mom, Love you!  No idea why I was feeling like she should have had any other reaction, probably because it was much harder on me than it was on her.  My co-workers had to continue to remind me it was a great thing that she didn't react in a negative manner.  It's just so sad to see her growing up so fast. 

That night we had a little fun on the trampoline, since it was such a hard day on mommy.

 

Fall and back to school time are always my favorite time of year, mostly because it reminds me of my athletic days when back to school signified the start of 9 months of soccer.  I wanted to ensure this love was instilled in Ad too, so we practiced her soccer in the kitchen this evening.   Love her!

Burkes at the Beach

We ended our week of vacation with the Burke's at Shawnie's beach house.  
Jake and Ad were ready to get out to the beach right after lunch!

The walk to the beach was much more fun with cousins and grandparents.

The kids loved playing in the sand in front of Papa Dougie.

 

Ad had a great time playing in the ocean with her daddy. 

Once the kids were all wet and tired Jake and Oley worked on building a "swimming pool". 

Ad had a great time just getting dirty. 

We had a great time out on the beach with the Burkes!  Can't wait to do it again. 

Sunday morning we saw them off, cleaned up, and headed back home to get ready for the week. 

Ad had a great time but was so happy to be home!
