The Work Week Grind

Being in the young women's and Oley in the young mens we get invited to go be leaders at mutual activities.  So far the two we have been asked to attend we have really enjoyed our time.  This past Tuesday we were asked to go assist with the Young Women ice blocking activity.  Since Oley had never been ice blocking he was super excited to be able to get to go.  We had a really good time, and we are happy to report there was only one injury, but unfortunately it happened to Oley's head.  He fell off his block on the last trip down the hill and it came behind him and hit him square in the forehead, poor guy!

Before we left for mutual I opened up the mail box and my diploma had finally come!  Yay!  I now truly am a master.
Thought we would give you a little taste of what we do at work.  This is my desk and where I spend 40 hours a week.
And this is what Oley does while he is at work.  You would think he was a park ranger or something.

That's Oley's office in the background, where he spends his 40 hours a week.

We were able to go and pick some more blackberries behind Oley's work on Friday night.  Our little monsters are so patient with us as we pick the berries.  Probably becuase they eat them as fast as we can pick them.
We ended our week with our monthly temple trip.  I had taken my camera becuase I wanted to get some shots of the Seattle temple, but we unfortunately didn't get around to it.  There were 10 weddings going on that day and so there were a lot of people out in the good picture taking areas.  Next time we go we will get some.  For now this one we took on Oley's phone will have to do.

60 years. . . Amazing!

Grandma and Grandpa celebrated their 60th anniversary earlier this summer, but all of their kids were unable to get together and celebrate until last weekend.  We were so excited that we were able to share this special occasion with them!  I love seeing them so in love and still serving one another after all of these years.

They are so cute!  They give me the inspiration that Oley and I will be able to last that long!  We came home Sunday night and Mom, Robyn, Kathy, Grandma, and Grandpa came and paid us a visit so that they could see our home.  It was good to have them here and we enjoyed having the company in our home.  We had a little dinner out back and Oley baked us some blackberry cobbler.

We love having family come visit, hopefully next time we will be able to take some time and show them some of our cool areas around the city!

Leavenworth with the Girls!

The past week or so has just flown by, work has been extremely busy.  Oley had to cover for someone else last week so he was working 12+ hour days and I had a lot of deadlines for important projects I had to meet, so it was a crazy week.
Friday we went and picked blackberries behind Oley's work, I wish I would have remembered the camera - but I didn't. .  . bummer!
It all ended with the opportunity to spend Saturday in Leavenworth with the young women.  Since niether Oley or I had been to Leavenworth we thought it would be a lot of fun to go and explore with them.  We left early Saturday morning and spent all day there and came home Saturday evening.  I did remember my camera for this trip though!

Today our little monsters went to the vet to get their vaccines and have their wellness exam.  Lily is still a little overweight and Dinky is just our little stud.  Although the roles have changed rather than Lily crying when getting her shots, Dinky was the cry baby today.  Silly little dogs!  Until next time, Peace Out!

Critter Infestation

It's been such a busy week neither of us even remember what happened.  Monday and Tuesday were pretty dry typical work and come home type days.  Wednesday Oley met me in Tacoma after work and we went to Shawnie's house to pick up the bed frame she is letting us borrow.  Which was a huge relief to finally get that all figured out.  Other than that this week has been quite typical.  The big success for us was that we thought we had all the paperwork in for the adoption, but come to find out Idaho requires additional documentation so we have a couple more forms to fill out and then we will have that all complete on our part.  Below is a picture of Mt. Rainier and the moon, I wish I would have had my real camera, but the cell phone shot was all I had.

Speaking of that I realize how broken our health care system really is.  As I called around to try and get a basic physical it was almost impossible to get one within a week, let alone get into a family practice physician within the next 2 months.  Snikey's health care in America definitely needs fixed.  Enough of that though.
Saturday was extremely busy at our house.  We had a lot planned and didn't get most of it done.  We started by getting the household chores done, but got distracted by that nasty mole in the backyard.  We are making progress though, we have been able to locate it's tunnels.
So we went out and filled all the tunnels with water.  Dinky and Lily got real excited becuase we let them help us find this little critter.

After spending quite some time in the back yard we still were unable to contain the little critter.  The property management still hasn't gotten back to our notification two weeks ago, so alas the back yard will continue to become the moles play ground.  Hopefully it won't though we haven't seen any new mounds since we spent all that time out there Saturday so we'll see.

Sunday was scorching hot,  90 degrees, so we shared our melon rinds with the dogs.  They loved them!
Other than that we will continue to search for this sneaky little critter and hope we don't melt in this heat!
