Visits from Family

Oley's parents came and spent a week with us as we continued to transition into parenthood.  We mostly just ate and let them play with Adelé.  They also brought his grandparents which was super fun!
Adelé is so good during church, thank goodness!

We love to go on walks with the little one

Dinky and
Adelé are still best buds

Crazy to see her in jeans - Makes her feel grown up.

It's so nice to have family close and have family come to visit.

Adelé was so excited I finally accepted a job and Daddy would get to stay home with her!

A New Chapter

Not only have we been blessed with the addition of Adelé into our home we also had some other big decisions that needed to be made.  When I took my job last year I only signed a one year contract and that contract is up at the end of June.  As we have prayed and put a lot of thought into what we need to do it was decided that I would continue to work and Oley would stay home and work on getting his schooling finished up - so eventually I can stay home with Adelé.
I didn't think it was going to be that hard of a decision until I actually held Adelé and knew that I would have to be leaving her everyday while I worked.  That being a big factor in the next job I would accept I put my resume in at a few different places - I was extremely nervous but through my scripture study I knew that everything I had done was going to pay off.  I interviewed at a couple different places and had a few different job offers.
As we prayed and fasted it was determined that I would accept the offer I was given at MultiCare (my current employer).  Even though the pay was not as good as the other offers the woman I would be working for was very understanding of what it is like to have a newborn and just have finished your master's degree.  Knowing how family oriented she was and how much confidence she had in me I decided I would accept the job and we would stay in our current home.  It's hard going to work every day, but it does make it easier knowing that Oley is home with Adelé and she is being well cared for.  I am grateful for the many offers I had, especially with the current unemployment rate and I am excited to continue to use my degree and make a difference in healthcare!
She is so excited to know that Daddy gets to stay at home with her!

Oley is a spectacular husband and support system.  A mint ice cream cake - YAY!

I absolutely love this little girl!

One Month

Crazy how fast time flies with a little one around.  We absolutely love having Adelé in our family.  The little spirit that she has in her shines through every day and brings so much happiness with it!  We adore her and are so grateful for Allison and everything she has done in order for us to experience this in our life.  I can't imagine not having an open adoption, it to has brought so many blessings with it. Knowing Allison and her love for Adelé brings a sense of peace and love into our home.  We have truly been blessed!

The Visits continue

Laur, Robyn, and Ryker left for home after we made the trek to Grandma's house.  But my mom was able to stay a few extra days and hang out with just us, which was nice. We were able to get some shopping done at the Craft store and mom was able to get Adelé a cute little tutu made.

Not only did we appreciate having my mom around Adelé showed her appreciation with what we will consider her first real meant to happen smile.  She is growing so fast!
Once I dropped mom off at the airport on Wednesday we had two days until Oley's parents were to be here.  So I made the most of my time and got the thank you cards written - that's correct just written not sent - hopefully soon though! And Adelé received the most amazing blanket from Whitney.  We love her!
