Father's Day

I never thought I could love Oley more than I already did, until I saw the tears stream down his face when
Adelé was born and how he has since stepped up and shown an unconditional amount of love towards her. The day I had to tell Oley that we were infertile was one of the hardest conversations we have had.  I knew how badly he wanted to be a father and how much it hurt for him to know that we would have to pursue a more difficult route to parenthood.  So to see his joy in the hospital room the day Adelé was born was awe-inspiring.   (He claims he is just allergic to baby ;) )

The love Oley shows for Adelé has given me a small glimpse into the love Heavenly Father must have for me and each one of his daughters.  It's amazing how having a child placed into your life can change your perspective on everything and how much deeper you are able to love.
I am so grateful for Allison and the joy she has been able to bring into our lives.  The Lord has definitely blessed us beyond measure and we could not be any happier with our family and our precious Adelé.  I can't wait for the day we will be able to kneel at the alter and become a forever family.  Oley truly is the greatest Father a wife and daughter could ever ask for!

Grandma's Birthday

We got to celebrate a couple different birthdays, and lucky for us they were both Grandmas!  My grandma's and my mom's.  Since my mom was kind enough to come help out with Adelé for a week we were excited that we got to celebrate her birthday and Grandma Sheila's!

Oley and Adelé were pretty tuckered out so didn't join in on the festivities for my mom's.
We loved having the family here to help out!

On Friday I needed to get some work done before we headed up to Grandma's and so Adelé came in and met my co-workers!

Adelé got to meet a lot more of the family and was loved on all weekend.  And enjoyed her first restaurant experience, of which she was an all-star!

Grandma Sheila loves her yard and bird houses so on the way home we stopped to pick her up a gift.  I am so glad we did, she loved it!

Haha this picture cracks me up!

Oley got it all set up in her backyard for her and the next morning there was actually a bird on it!  Yay! Love having Grandma and Grandpa so close and that we are able to take a weekend every once in awhile to go up and visit them.  They truly are a blessing in our life!

Puppy Love

I will be honest, we were really worried how Dinky and Lily were going to react to having a baby around.  I don't think they quite understood until the baby actually came home to our home with us and was here for a few days.  But all of our worrying and fretting about how they were going to react was for nothing.  They absolutely love Adelé and are so good at staying away from her face.
Okay so this isn't her and the dogs but I thought this was funny!

I left Adelé on the couch to go do dinner and came back to find her and Dinky sleeping together.  Obviously probably poor coincidence, but so cute!
Other adventures this week included her first shopping trip - broke her in with a trip to Hobby Lobby.

She loves to take baths and hang out with her daddy!

She becomes much more alert everyday, it's amazing how fast she is growing!

Home Sweet Home

I always loved being at my own house sleeping in my own bed , but I never really appreciated it until we had a child.  Oh how wonderful it is to be home!  Our first weekend home was a busy one.  Friday Adelé had her first visit to her pediatrician.  Our little champ has gained all her weight back, she weighed in at a whopping 8 pounds 3 ounces - love this girl!  I have never been a fan of needles, or blood, so when they took the needle to get the rest of the blood they needed to do some testing I thought I was going to die. Adelé did awesome though, didn't even really cry - I thought they were draining her of all her blood! The nurse said she is the most content baby, and I have dealt with A LOT of babies.  We truly are blessed to have this perfect little girl.  When we got in the car she gave me this face.  Love her!
Oley had training for the trek that night and said he would be home by 11 when 1:00 AM rolled around I was a little worried and he wasn't answering his phone.  Finally around 2:30 AM he decided to grace us with his presence.  They had forgotten to tell him that they were going for a night hike.  He then had to be back over there by 6 AM and wasn't home till 5 PM so Adelé and I got to hang out!
She laid in her own bed while I did her laundry.
And loved the time she got to swing!
Since her umbilical cord had fell off on our trip to Boise, we gave her her first real bath on Sunday with Allison on Skype.  She loved the water!
 Allison joined us via Skype.

She is the cutest little baby, EVER!

First Photo Shoot

Lucky for Adelé this was her first of probably countless impromptu photo shoots to come, although really who could resist this cute little baby!  Obviously I am no professional but it was fun to get some shots of her.  When we are back in Idaho Falls in August we will have some actual professional ones taken of her and our new little family.  Until then these will do!

ICPC Waiting ~ Boise

Our first stop was Pocatello to see Oley's uncle. Adelé was a trooper until we hit about Burley, which I don't blame her.  When we took her out of her seat and took her clothes off to change her diaper the poor baby's umbilical cord had been rubbing on the car seat straps and was now falling off.  Poor little thing.

Once we made her as comfortable as we could, we finally made it to Boise just in time for Doug and Oley to make it to Rockies to do their "challenge".

Neither of them were able to finish, but they both had a good time so that's all that matters!  We continued to anxiously await our phone call.  Come to find out the woman who usually takes care of these had retired and our caseworker was unsure who had replaced her and Idaho also had a new guy so it took a little longer than usual.  But by Thursday we finally got the call and were cleared to make our trek home.  We loved hanging out with Lauralynn, Doug, Ryker and Liz.  While we were there we had a really good time playing games with Ryker, Ryker loving on the baby, visiting the newly renovated temple, and going to Ryker's swim lessons.  All and all a good couple days!

Adelé did really well on the drive home. We were able to go about 3 hours between feedings and so made it in a little over 9 hours which was great timing with a little one on board.  As we were pulling up to the house there was a rainbow over head.
We truly are blessed and are so grateful for all the family and friends that helped us out the past week.  It was such a blessing that Allison just happened to live in the same town as our families so to share in this special time with them was tremendous, but oh how great it was just to be home!  Oley got Adelé's bed ready, read her a bed time story, and we were all sound asleep within minutes.
Infertility has proven to be one of the most difficult trials that we have endured, but as we all know as we endure our trials well we will be blessed beyond measure and we have definitely been blessed beyond measure!
